On September 16, 1965 at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA, as an eight-year-old boy, Dr. Harper received Christ as his Savior. In 1969 at twelve years old he was called to preach and preached his first sermon at Victory Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA. that same year.
Dr. Harper has served over fifty years in the ministry as an evangelist, pastor, teacher and missionary. He served at Victory Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA from 1976 through 1993 as assistant pastor under his father, Brother Johnny Harper. He served from 1994 through July of 1999 on pastoral staff at Westside Baptist Church in Newnan, GA under Dr. Melvin Payne. There he established a ministry to the Spanish speaking people of Coweta County, GA. In August of 1999 he was called to pastor New Beginning Baptist Church in Senoia, GA which became a thriving church under his direction. Dr. Harper stepped down as senior pastor in 2008 when he was called into missions.
Dr. Harper has served as a missionary in India, and South and Central America for many years. In 2012 He founded Redemption Baptist Ministries. He is currently serving as the International Director of Harvest International Missions, which is a ministry of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle in Jonesboro, GA, pastor Dr. Joe Arthur.
Dr. Harper received his Bachelor of Theology at Immanuel Baptist College and Theological Seminary in Peachtree City, GA. Since that time, he has earned his Master of Religious Education, Doctor of Theology, Doctor of Philosophy and has been awarded a Doctor of Divinity.
The Lord has given Dr. Harper the opportunity to serve as a missionary in Asia and Latin America; and to preach, teach, establish Bible colleges and Institutes, and conduct Bible conferences the world over.
His vision is to reach the world with the greatest news that has ever been heard – the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
